Friendship

  • The Mu Alpha Fellowship Program is all about building and strengthening friendships between the brothers of our fraternity. Chapter activities to promote friendship include picnics, late-night dinners, weekend retreats, get-togethers held after meetings and service projects, and our annual semi-formal Mu Alpha Night reception. During pledging this year, each Wednesday a brother hosted pledges and fellow brothers for a study break--game nights or catching a Hoya basketball game--to get to know each other in an informal setting. With the events coordinated through its Fellowship Program, the brothers of Mu Alpha develop bonds of friendship that last a lifetime.

The fellowship continues on the alumni level.  Not only are chapter alumni welcome to participate in most of our fellowship opportunties, but the Mu Alpha Alumni Association has sponsored its own activities as well.  The association has sponsored happy hours, an inter-chapter alumni dinner, and spades nights.

    Senior Reception and Alumni Induction

The Senior Reception and Alumni Induction was created in 2007 by the Mu Alpha Alumni Association to formally salute graduating seniors and welcome them to alumni membership.  Not just a retention tool, this ceremony and fellowship event has the added bonus of formally sharing the ideals of Alpha Phi Omega with friends and family members.  For many parents, it offers a glimpse into a world formerly known to them only through emails and off-hand conversations.

A new Mu Alpha tradition, the Senior Reception and Alumni Induction takes place on the Thursday prior to graduation.
